Let your performer discover the joys of Improv by utilizing their own innate sense of play, curiosity and authenticity. During the mornings in this camp, through coaching, exercises, creative games and short-form scenes, students will learn how to be more spontaneous, trusting and cooperative. These skills will not only help your performer as an actor but also at school in learning how to connect with people socially. This camp is all about jumping in, having fun, playing hard, working together and finding your voice.
Ever wonder why a fight on stage looks so real? Like they are actually punching and kicking each other? Look No Further! In the afternoons of this camp teens experience Safe Practices of Stage Combat. We will escalate through the progression from learning the proper practices of stage combat all the way to implementing it into scenes and choreographing their own “fights”. Campers will spend the week working through hand to hand combat featuring all sorts of techniques used in the industry to make fighting look real. They will learn the techniques of slaps, punches, grabs, hair pulls, and many more in a safe and controlled environment.
A final performance of Improv and Stage Combat will be presented to friends and family on the final day of camp at 2:15 pm.
